Parking

You may park your car in one of two lots located behind the Men’s Locker Room or next to the Business Office. Click below to view maps of Caves Valley Golf Club:

Pace of Play

Pace of Play

The single most important factor in producing an enjoyable golf experience is pace of play. All matches are expected to be completed in 4½ hours or less. Mulligans are not allowed on the first tee. Matches should keep pace with the match in front, and all players should play without delay.

Dress Code

Dress Code

Male golfers are requested to wear sleeved and collared shirts and must always be worn tucked inside one’s trousers.  Shorts, Bermuda-length, and slacks are permitted throughout the season.  Women golfers may wear slacks, shorts, or skirts.  Shorts and skirts must reach a minimum of mid-thigh in length.  Women’s shirts must have either a collar or sleeves and should be worn tucked-in unless designed to be worn untucked.

  • Changing Shoes
Shoes should not be changed in the parking lot. Please change your shoes in the Men’s or Women’s Locker Room.

  • Softspikes Required
Everyone who plays at Caves Valley must wear non-metal or spikeless golf shoes. To accommodate guests who do not have them, Softspikes may be installed in the Locker Room or shoes are available for purchase in the Golf Shop.

Jeans of any color, athletic attire, cargo pants, leggings, tee shirts, and flip flops are not acceptable attire on the grounds of the Club, unless walking from the Locker Room to one’s car.

Golf attire is permitted in the Clubhouse until 7:00 pm. After 7:00 pm, jackets, long pants, and collared shirts, as well as appropriate dinner attire for women, are required in the Bar, all Club dining rooms, and under the Clubhouse porches. Golf attire after 7:00 pm is only permitted on the bluestone patios outside Rudi’s Bar and adjacent to the Golf Shop. All golfers should remove their hats while inside the Clubhouse and under the Club porches.

Cell Phones

Cell Phone Policy

Cellular phones should be turned off or switched to silent mode. The use of cell phones is discouraged on Club property; however, if you must use your phone, please move to a private location, such as the locker room or your vehicle.

Club Rentals

Club Rentals

Please let us know if you do not have golf clubs, and we will be happy to provide a set of our rental clubs for a nominal fee. We have invested in quality, name-brand clubs to serve your needs.

Golf Carts

Golf Carts

Caves Valley is a walking course, and the Club is proud of its caddie program. Golf carts are available as a means for transportation to Members and their guests who are physically unable to walk our course. Caddies will carry all bags to preserve the integrity of the walk.

Carts are not to be driven closer than 30 feet of all greens and must be parked in the rough or cart path and never the fairway approach in front of the green. Carts are never to be driven in the fairways, they must stay on the cart paths or in the rough.

Care for the Course

Care for the Course

As a general rule, caddies will replace divots and rake bunkers. However, if it will speed play, caddies are encouraged to leave a player as soon as club selection is finished and attend to their other player. Golfers should replace their own divots and rake bunkers if their caddies are not present. Even if you are playing a late afternoon or evening round, it is necessary to rake the bunkers before proceeding.

Caddies

Caddies

A caddie must accompany all golfers, whether they walk or ride in a cart.

Members are expected to settle their caddie fees, and the fees for their guests, with the caddie(s) at the end of the round. If authorized by the hosting Member, guests will be permitted to pay their caddies directly via cash or credit card in the Golf Shop.

Please ensure that your golf bag has a stand and is lightened for caddies to carry around the course, or they will transfer your clubs to a lighter bag prior to tee off.

Lightening Detection Alert

Lightning Detection

When severe weather and lightning activity is detected in the area, a horn will sound. A solid 15 second signal indicates when severe weather is expected, and anyone outdoors should seek shelter. Three short signals indicate that play can resume. It is mandatory to discontinue play when the horn sounds. Play is not to be resumed until the all-clear signal is sounded. When warned of an impending storm, players who are not near the Clubhouse should immediately seek shelter and wait for staff to escort them off the course in a limo cart.
